Becca [bek-uh]: Our sister, our daughter, our aunt and friend. She is a wife, neighbor, and a mother of three.
With two life-altering diagnoses less than a year apart, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. Becca is staying strong but now needs help to keep going.
In November 2024 her youngest child underwent a serious brain surgery to treat Chiari malformation - a condition where the brain tissue extents into the spinal cord. The procedure involved removing part of the skull to relieve pressure. Their child had a slow and painful recovery but is now doing well.
Just as things were returning to normal another devastating blow has hit the family. Becca was diagnosed in September, a rare and chronic bone marrow cancer that disrupts the body’s ability to produce healthy blood cells. During her testing, doctors also discovered that she has abnormally this heart walls putting her at even more risk. Becca is going to need a bone marrow transplant that typically has an extensive recovery process. The hospital stay will be lengthy and requires a non-staffed caregiver 24/7.
Trips to the hospital and doctor appointments usually involve a ninety-minute commute one way. All of the driving is in an unreliable old van that is in constant need of repairs. Recently over this past weekend the van has completely broken down with possible transmission issues.
Becca is waiting patiently for a bone marrow donor. While she waits, fatigue, depression, and overall feeling ill are taking over. Due to this she is unable to work, causing even more unnecessary stress in her life.
We are asking for your help. Even the smallest donation will go a long way. Not only helping financially but to give Becca hope. Hope to know that she is not alone and that she has our support now more than ever.
All cash donations will go directly to purchasing prepaid gas and grocery cards. If enough money is raised, we are hoping to help Becca get a set of brand-new tires and make any necessary repairs to her van. Thank you for taking the time to read Becca’s story. We appreciate anything you can do to help.
